DOHA DEPUTY Prime Minister and Chief of Emiri Diwan His Excellency Abdullah bin Hamad al Attiah will inaugurate the second edition of Aspire4Sport 2011 conference at the Aspire Dome on Saturday. The four-day global sports congress and exhibition will attract over 100 exhibitors from Qatar and around the world. Aspire4Sport Executive Director Ward Abdallah said: “We had received a huge response from companies and organisations associated with sports and sports business.

We have got so many interested companies for this edition. So, we accommodated only 100 exhibitors to provide both quality and variety.” “We have also lined up the 2014 FIFA World Cup Organising Committee stall by Brazil. Various clubs from Europe have shown their interest to take part in the exhibition, which has gained massive popularity within a short time,” he added. Those who have put up their stalls and booths include famous clubs like FC Barcelona, Arsenal, AC Milan, Malaga, Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund and FC Schalke.
Formula 1 racing team Williams, represented by its owner Sir Frank Williams and driver Rubin Barichello, will also make its appearance at the event. “The purpose of this congress and exhibition is to provide a good platform for people from the fields of sports and sports business.
Top global sports brands, professional clubs, sports associations, national Olympic committees, media companies, stadium construction companies and merchandise manufacturers would be present at the Aspire4Sport 2011,” Abdallah said. Many sports legends and personalities will share their experience to inspire new generation of up-coming stars wishing to follow a career in sports. Athletics legends Carl Lewis and Bom Beamon, former gymnastic star Nadia Comeneci, tennis superstar Venus Williams, 2006 FIFA World Cup winning team captain Fabio Cannavaro of Italy, exsoccer star Michael Laudrup of Denmark and ex-Dutch football star Clarence Seedorf will add to star-studded event.
FC Barcelona and Venus have also agreed to hold coaching clinics during the event. FC Barcelona President Sandro Rosell, former Italian football head coach Marcelo Lippi, 2008 UEFA Cup winning team Spain’s Coach Luis Aragones and legendary football coach Bora Milutinovic will also speak on different issues related to sports. Qatar Olympic Committee Secretary-General Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman al Thani and Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee General Secretary Hassan al Thawadi will represent Qatar and express their views about the national vision on sports.
The event will feature interesting topics concerning sports and sports persons. The topics will include architecture and designs of stadiums, safety and security of the sports facilities, role of IT and technology in sports, transportation and logistics, investment opportunities in Qatar’s sports industry, environment- friendly sports construction, sports science, use of sports medicine for better results, how to build an Olympic star, top level football performance and sports and corporate social responsibility
